After a reasonably calm and uneventful crossing from Stockholm on the ferry (at least for me!), today brought on another great little park. Linnanmäki have, as with all the other parks on this tour, excelled themselves both in the park, and in their hospitality towards us. Their wooden coaster (a duplicate of the excellent coaster at Bakken) was running well, and provided another very enjoyable ERS. Highlight of the day for me though was to ride a Huss Booster (not to be confused with the fairground "spinning crane" ride of the same name built by Fabbri) - which despite it's rarity is one of my favourite spinning rides.

Linnanmäki today after surprisingly comfortable overnight ferry. ERS on another excellent scenic railway. We've now ridden one third of the world's remaining scenics on one trip. Vonkaputous - Premier water coaster - also fun. Again a hot sunny day in a beautiful park. Looking forward to some unscheduled bonus riding tonight.

After a fantastic night on the ferry (which this year actually saw me sleeping for a few precious hours!) we quickly arrived at Linnanmäki. Within only minutes of leaving the Ferry we were enjoying a great 3-train ERS on Vuoristorata followed by an excellent buffet meal. The group then attacked the watercoaster on mass before the rest of the park. Another stonking day so far. Let's hope the fun continues at Särkänniemi.

After a mammoth but beautiful ferry crossing it was good to get back into a park. More hill walking today too with Linnanmäki being set on Helsinki's tallest point. Great morning ERS and looking forward to more riding tonight at our last park. What a great trip and weather we really didn't expect. Be nice to see cloud and normal temperatures again in the UK!

The trip from Stockholm to Helsinki was fantastic. The weather has been great all trip, and the colors of the sea, the land, and the sky were brilliant. We had a great day at Linnanmäki too. The park was a bit larger than we had imagined. We had a wonderful ERS on Vuoristorata (wooden scenic railway), especially when on the train with the best brakeman. Why he was called a brakeman was beyond us. We did stop in the station though. Linnanmäki is very nice. It has a lot of rides of all types (coasters, dark rides, walk-thrus, flat rides, observation rides, water rides, etc.). If you are looking to get a little wet, it is nice that you can ride a coaster (Vonkaputous) to accomplish this. It was too bad we had to leave!

Missed the chance to mention GrönaLund last night as was having just 1 drink. Honest! What can I say about Stockholm? The most amazing city: clean, friendly, beautiful and the Vasa Museum possibly the best I've ever been to. One of the few times my breath really has been taken away!!! As for the park, it was all I expected and more. The Knoebels of Europe. Gonna learn Swedish, quit my job and move out....if only. Today at Linnanmäki I was too hungover to properly enjoy it, but a Great park and another gr8 scenic. Oh yes.. the ferry trip is probably the highlight for me so far. Stunning scenery. The Swedes have got it all...U lucky people.

Country number four and the pace of this trip hasn't let up yet. After the essay of yesterday I will keep it short. Linnanmäki is a very nice park and had yet another Scenic Railway. However they do have the best brakeman as I sure others have already mentioned. Been very tired today though and looking around the coach I can see I am not the only one, about half seem to be asleep. At least the boat crossing is done with now, I wasn't sick by the way, but the plane trip is looming closer.

A quick "catch up" to cover the GrönaLund from the previous days. A great park with a generous ERS on the Mouse, Drop Tower and coaster. Fantastic setting on the waterfront overlooking the city. Generous hospitality together with a good selection of rides proved to be the formula for another very enjoyable day. The journey on the ferry proved to be enjoyable too sailing through the many islands on our way to Helsinki. The morning ERS on the scenic was enjoyed by quite a few – even those with hangovers from the previous evening/morning spent in the bar/disco. An enjoyable lunch and then time to experience the rest of the rides and attractions available. Another great day with an evening surprise to follow.

GrönaLund — Jetline ERS was fantastic and to have a Wild Mouse traversing the tracks was certainly very different. The layout of the Mouse reminded me of The Mouse at Tripsdrill. A Wild Mouse with a difference.

Linnanmäki — Hospitality amazing. Vuoristorata ERS amazing, especially if you were riding the red train. Airtime!!

Liz Fryer-Kelsey
GrönaLund was great, we had ERS on Jetline for over an hour, I felt quite queasy after an hour on Jetline and had to get off, too much helixes! It's amazing how they have built the Wild Mouse within the tracks of Jetline. And yes, you could touch Jetline passengers from the Catapult.

Linnanmäki — Vuoristorata was running fairly slowly to start, but the front seats on the yellow train packed some airtime, I have the bruises to prove that.

All the parks have treated us really well, and we hope to return again in the future.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz very tiring week.

Who knew I could get so worn out going to parks... The fun houses alone (that we stumble upon) can take the energy out of you. I have visited more fun houses in this one week than I have ever experienced in the past as a whole. Amazing historical parks and rides made this trip so dreamlike that no matter how tired I get I still fell sad the last day is almost here. Schwarzkopf has a lot more followers today then he had a week before. As an american I had a large bitter pill to swallow to admit the parks in Scandinavia are the best in the world!! O.K so part of my sleep depravation came from a strange night aboard a party ferry across the baltic sea with a bunch of third world wanna be drunk sailors. But when you wake up to a new scenic railway waiting for you... how can one be tired with a conscience? I made great new friends and re-kindled old ones.. I'll dream about this trip for months to some. I will thought actually get some sleep during this time.. Ian: Damn you for letting me drink Vodka & Redbull mixed followed by Jeagermester shooters!! You're a real pal!!

It was good to get back to Linnanmäki & spend longer in the park. The hospitality again was great shame the trip is nearly over!

An excellent night on the ferry brought us to Finland for the final leg of the tour. Today was spent in Linnanmäki, which is another hilltop park which mixes the old with the new. The final scenic coaster of the tour was ridden this morning and the depending on the car was enjoyed in many ways. The yellow was sedate, the green was moderate with little pops of airtime, but it was the red car which was flying today. The brakeman should be commended for the way he teased us around the track, slow on the bends and blusteringly fast on the drops. I am sure I will be developing bruises across my thighs from the airtime he gave us! The park has an excellent 3D haunted walk through and a Huss Booster both of which I'd never seen before. Both were really enjoyable. I also had a DDR rematch with Austin and we did extremely well, managing to complete 3 medium level tunes, my feet are killing now though. On to the final park now.

The Ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki was good fun, although we "chickened out" by actually going to sleep at a reasonable hour!

Linnanmäki was a lovely park. Vuoristorata was a great Scenic Railway, almost identical to that at Bakken, but not quite as powerful (although the front and third from front seats was ejector seat airtime!). We are really having a brilliant time in Scandinavia, it's a shame that it is getting near the end. Looking forward to Särkänniemi.

Jack Holmes
Bus driver is blonde, gorgeous & Finnish, Vuoristorata is 3rd scenic and best yet. Shrimp and salmon for lunch, this is heaven!

If it's Saturday, it must be Finland! The ferry ride was great. (For those from the states: this is no dinky ferry boat – it's a HUGE cruise-size ship complete with all the accessories. Good food, plenty to drink and dancing helped while away the night. At midnight we were on the back of the ship watching the sun trying to set. After a fun jaunt across the Baltic, we arrived in our fourth and final country on this sojourn. Linnanmäki was charming with a great scenic. It was built in 1951 making it the newest one. The green train ran the best, although I suspect it depends on who is driving the train (or rather braking it). The park had lost of other great rides and attractions, too. A must see stop. Ride On!

Andy Costin
GrönaLund was another great park, with some fun rides, including an excellent Schwarzkopf coaster with a wild mouse coaster intertwined within-totally mental! More sunshine, more heat!(phew!!!!) A ferry trip across to Finland last night and it was cold on board.(nectar!!!!!!!!!!) (Yes, I wore my trackie!!!) Arrived in Helsinki to try the scenic railway at Linnanmäki. Almost identical to one at Bakken, a good ride with ejector-seat airtime in the 3rd row. Now I am KNACKERED!!!

Austin Rathe
Another day, another small park with some great rides. This Scenic Railway was the slowest of the three, still a good ride but not as good as the one at Tivoli. We had a great night on the Ferry, and once again Bobby (Nagy) and Stephen were the life and soul of the party. We rock on!

Tim Galvelis
Two days to report on. Grona Lund was a beautiful park, Vilda Musen is at the top of my best wild mouse list. Sorry Hershey. The ferry was wild, and sad at the same time.

Wild partying in the disco, and sad, pathetic folk singing at the bar. Linnanmäki was a lot of fun, with a very fast and memorable last ride in the red train at the end of ride time. FIX THAT DOOR! More later.
