Missed the last couple of updates somehow, so this might be a long one. Sorry everyone. TusenFryd is a beautiful park in a quite stunning setting, one of the best anywhere. Bit hilly though. SuperSplash was fun and quite damp (for some). Thundercoaster was disappointingly reminiscent of a bag of spanners (I mean that in a kind and constructive way). The infamous second drop - well, uh….OK. Also an unusually smooth Vekoma in a Nemesis-like location. Loooooooong coach journey to Stockholm followed.

GrönaLund excellent. Second fantastic Schwarzkopf in Jetline along with Vilda Musen - new and different steel mouse. Incredibly hot everywhere; now on overnight ferry to Helsinki. Nige, remind me again why you didn't come…

GrönaLund is a lovely little park with a couple of great coasters. Jetline is a powerful Schwarzkopf coaster with some high G forces, especially in the third drop, which swoops back on itself. The Vilda Musen coaster has been customized to fit in between the Jetline structure, which makes it a very interesting ride, with banked turns and lots of fun.

The mini tour of Stockholm was an interesting detour from the usual park stuff, visiting the King's palace, the tour guide's Mum's apartment and other interesting sights. Susan and I were lucky enough to see the Rolling Stones arrive at their hotel in Stockholm…Mick Jagger waved at us. It's amazing really ... the news gets out that the ECC are in town, and the Rolling Stones decide to visit to see what the fuss was all about! With the hot and sunny weather and the excellent hospitality, GrönaLund was a big hit!

Firstly, Hi Mum!!! GrönaLund is a lovely park set on the beautiful waterfront of Stockholm. Two great coasters made even better by the fact that they share the same area and support structure. Gerstlauer and Werner Stengel have created a masterpiece in Vilda Musen - certainly not your normal wild mouse! Looking forward to the final two days and hopefully a cooling in the weather, although you can't really complain about 7 days of blue skies and 30 odd degrees!!

Sitting on a boat while I write this and I don't feel sick! Hopefully will be able to remain fine for the whole crossing otherwise it could be a terrible crossing for me. The other night I was talking about what would happen if enthusiasts built a theme park, in GrönaLund I think I have found the park I would build. Both the main coasters are fantastic and are such a contrast for two smooth non-looping steel coasters. The second drop on Jetline was incredible and even topped Thunder coaster's second drop for me. I thought I may come away from a ride saying "what a second drop," but never guessed it would be Jetline

The mouse has also been a pleasant surprise and completely different from what I expected. I love rides which interact with their surroundings such as Nemesis so I loved the way Vilde Musen interacted with the supports of Jetline, Tower ride etc… The two-hour ERS at GrönaLund has to have been my highlight of the tour so far. I love the fact that the 60 members were spread over 3 very different rides, which were all superb. I cannot fault the park and was very sorry to leave. I will be back.

A quick word about the night in Stockholm, I do realise the ship has sailed on this been quick, excusing the pun. It was great to meet with club members outside of parks and the night out itself was fantastic.

Who'd have thought that one greasy strip of paper bound about a wrist with cheap glue could bring so much pleasure over two days? A 'mutant' mouse coaster at GrönaLund was quite unlike any other - curvy, swervy and highly re-rideable. On a different tack, why is it that while every ride op in Scandinavian parks speaks the Queen's English, every rail ticket seller and bus driver and public transport operative can't speak a word? Public transport…a constant wherever you travel.

What a wonderful couple of days - GrönaLund and Stockholm. Stockholm is a lovely city with great architecture, clean air, and waterways everywhere. GrönaLund really adds to the atmosphere of the city. Two very nice coasters, Jet Line and Vilda Musen, two towers (a free fall and a shot 'n' drop), some dark rides, and lots of flowers and garden areas. We had great fun and can't wait to return. Many thanks to the park's management for the great tour and their wonderful hospitality!

As in the first venture here in 2001, it was another fabulous experience. A small, but fantastic park. The meal in the park featured the biggest and best cheeseburgers I've had in ANY park in a long time. And of course, the roller coasters were superb. Thank you Anton Schwarzkopf!!

I enjoyed the 2 hour ERS. Did a two hour tour of Stockholm - quite nice indeed. Now it's time to ferry to Finland and keep this great trip going for a few more days.

Hi Kerry and Theresa!! Hope ya reading!

GrönaLund was great. Had for our ERS Jetline, Wild Mouse and the Giant Drop - which was great, and the coasters were superb. Jetline was a very smooth Schwarzkopf, and the Wild Mouse was great - and was very similar to the one in Tripsdrill.

The tour of Stockholm after was the oddest event of our trip so far. A tour of Stockholm city, followed by a visit to our tour guides Mum's house to see how a real "Swede" lives, followed by a photo shoot with the Rolling Stones. What a trip!!! Can't wait to see what the next day brings!

Ok, so I'm not on the trip. I'm back here in Boston in the midst of several major networking projects for the corporation I work for. Nonetheless, know that posting these photos and trip reports (I'm playing the role of Webmaster du Jour whilst Tom Marshall is on holiday), know that I'm sitting here literally DROOLING over the Scandi trip. Best to you all and safe travels home...Bill "hope there is a Scandi trip in 2005!!!"
