Day 6

GrönaLund

Day 6 - July 17

Group Shot taken as they arrived at their new destination...

Welcome to GrönaLund :
Club Members arrive at the park after a lengthy jaunt across Scandinavia

The JETLINE ERS was the first order of business.

"Load em up 'n ship em out!"

Whee!!

Breathless in the Brake Run.

Riders being their journey on the WILD MOUSE (which is really quite mad!)

Please tell us the park did not allow Lisa Scheinen on the high-speed go-carts! [grin]

Some members watch on as ECCers reveal their hottest dance moves!

"Would you like to go play in my room? I've got LEGOs!"

No, this is NOT a special class for "gifted" club members...

This was supposed to be Justin, but we failed to see the resemblance
(e.g. where's the camera?!)

"RIGHT!   We've had enough of the LEGOs, thank you!"

Before or After the pub -- YOU decide!

"Cheers!" from GrönaLund!

Someone ALWAYS has to bring a Laptop to the pub, don't they!

GrönaLund gets a "Thumbs Up!"

GrönaLund gave us yet another fantastic warm Scandinavian welcome and what a great time we had there. Great park, great atmosphere, great staff, great rides (Fun House, GhostTrain, Jetline, Vild Musen especially) and great food. If only we could have something like this back home, but would it work with the British culture?

With one of the best ERS's ever (2 hours with three rides!), a great meal, fantastic park people, and with plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the park and the fabulous city - our GrönaLund stay was yet another highlight of the trip. In fact the whole trip has been one huge highlight!

We also said goodbye to Thomas and the Moheda Bus today as we are now on the Ferry to Finland, and more accurately in the bar! I have to say a huge thank you to Thomas and the coach company for making my job very easy during the past week. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you!

GrönaLund - great people and 2 great coasters! This entire trip has just been one wonderful time after another.

2 days in GrönaLund and this was the park that I thought would be the best. I think I made the right choice. This park was great. A superb location and some really nice rides. The addition of the mouse ride has made that, the jetline and the double shot all much better than they would be if they were run separate. I had some close encounters of the wild mouse kind whilst riding the tower. The park hospitality was superb with an amazing lunch and my first 2-hour ERS which worked really well with the group spread amongst the 3 rides. Now onto Finland for the final 2 parks.

GrönaLund translates into green ??? (couldn't get the translation for Lund). It's a brilliant park. Tight, taught and delicious. The Schwarzkopf is superb, as is Vilda Musen. On to Finland, and its finery.

GrönaLund is a great park, they have done so much in such a small area. I thought that maybe 2 days would be too much, but I couldn't have been more wrong, never have I seen such clever use of space, that park somehow managed to have 34 rides. The Jet Line coaster was the best steelie of the trip, and Werner Stengel needs a big bottle of something for Vilda Musen, even without its location it would be a classic ride, with the location it is stunning. The park also had the two best tower rides of the trip, a great s&s combo tower and the never-ending Intamin drop tower. We rock on to Finland for my first Intamin inverted, life is good.

Having a thoroughly good time - just wished I'd lost my trip "virginity" years ago!!!! The ERS's have been amazing, all the parks have treated us like royalty, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend an ECC trip to anyone who loves coasters. Highlight so far is Balder (named after the Norse God of hairloss), which is incredible, the only disappointment was Thundercoaster. Really looking forward to the Finnish parks…
