Perhaps the biggest surprise of the trip so far for me. What a lovely park! No wonder it's considered to be the Knoebel's of Denmark. Clean park in the woodland with a surprise around each corner. Many 'extras' (rifle shooting, horse riding, mini-golf etc) all included in admission price. Falken appears to have become a bit of a Thundercoaster - a bit rough but obviously a good ride when it's behaving - I'm sure by the next trip it will be smoother. 5-Star hospitality, great food and beer included in the dinner. Woo-hoo!

Somerland is a lovely family park with friendly staff and great food.

Scott Planeta
Somerland was a also a good time and unique. Fun to explore and enjoy. Great hospitality.

Simon Baynham
Nice park. Falken would have been a great ride if it were not for the roughness, I rode it three times, it is a woodie after all. Rest of the park was great, and beautiful with the trees and flowers etc.

Keith Johnson
The trip just keeps getting better and better. Farup went far beyond my expectations. I consider this park to be the Knoebel's of Denmark. Falken was a bit rough, but it didn't take away from my experience at the park at all. They get an A+ for hospitality all the way.

Malcolm Marr
Farup was an awesome park but there's no way we could have a park like this in the UK. Not a reflection of the park but more on our silly Health & Safety rules; most of the kiddy attractions wouldn't be allowed back home. I chose not to do the Falken ERS, I value my knees too much to endure an hour of having them bounced within a metal restraint that wrapped around my legs. People raved about this coaster on the mini-trip. Could this be suffering the same fate as Thundercoaster?

andycoasterboy
farup is a great park with loads of fun stuff including some coasters!! ... thanks to all the great staff for a great day.

Jeff Holmes
Great hospitality in Farup their woodie Falken was quite good even though a little rough.

tomahawk
the obstacle course was crazy!

Michael Horwood
Crowds, crowds, crowds - all in the middle of nowhere. The ERS FINALLY got us a short queue. ;)

Celia Horwwod
A real surprise - where did all those people come from! Never seen so many trampolines and unique kiddy fun stuff! Obstacle course with climbing would never be found in North America. Best ERS of the trip. Oh yes, the food and drink were top notch!

Yvonne Janik
Farup was full of trees and lakes and was very different than any park I have been too. The relaxed atmosphere and beauty had an feeling of another world, and I loved it. It was also wonderful to be greeted by a national news crew filming our arrival. I greatly appreciated the generosity and hospitality of Soeren -- we were treated like kings by the park and celebrities by the media.

Jeppe Nygaard
So I have returned back to Denmark - the final leg of our tour. Farup Sommerland was at its best: sunny, packed park, and really good atmosphere. I loved to see people enjoyed themselves on some of the park's unique attractions. I am very grateful for all the gifts the park gave us and the fabulous dinner, which was by far the best of the whole trip. We ended the day with a superb ERS on Falken. I am very glad that the park managed to get so much tv publicity from our trip, so it was a benefit for the park too that we came. Thank you so much, Farup and especially Soeren.

Mick Fryer-Kelsey
Wasn't sure whaqt to expect, what a surprise! 4 coasters, a great selection of rides, a kiddle drop tower which rotated, I loved it. Park very busy, but I loved the setting in beautiful wooded setting, very much a family park. The hospitality was out of this world, the staff fantastic, reminded me of our first 2001 tour. Thanks for making our visit to your park a visit to remember.

Liz Fryer-Kelsey
A small park hidden in the wood. A good selection of rides. The meal was a buffet and should have suited everyone, even though those of us who find food selections 'challenging', (or to pur it another way, those of us who are fussy eaters) The hospitality was great and we were made to feel welcome.
Falken, sadly not the most comfortable woodie that I have ridden. The middle seats, not over wheels were great fun, but when I sat over the wheels in the front or back of a car I was bashed by the lapbar after the second drop, and this did not make for a pleasant end section of the ride.

Tonny Schonewille
Falken's great, despite everyone else's comments. I wish GCI would build them like that.

Mike & Bob Englander
Farup Somerland is a great park with unusual things you don't find in the States.

Kat S.
The hospitality was top notch at Farup Somerland!! The park was a beautiful blend of both a garden play park and an amusement park. Loved the green bouncer!! ERS was energetic with treat double rides and plenty of cheers.

Andy Costin.
You can't beat the hospitality at Farup! Great park, great food, free beer {but i'm teetotal! :-( and the ERS was FUN FUN FUN!

Terry Jarvis
What a wonderful park! Can't remember better hospitality, and the staff very friendly. The coaster Falken is running insane and, is very wild! One of the best ERS's of the trip!

Coastin' Carl Ragan
Ahhh, Farup Sommerland, the Knoebels of Europe. Basically a huge picnic/playground with some rides thrown in for good measure. Definitely different, unique, and unusual playground equipment here. Falken was a bit jostling with little airtime. The power boats were loads of fun, and the BEST meal of the trip was had here. Thanks for the souvenir bag. Greatest improvement: make the park non-smoking. I'm glad you did well on your exam BTW!

Bill Buckley
Unrivaled hospitality from a gem of a park. Highlight of the park was the adventure course through the woods. Awesome fun! I, along with the gcii guys, had a front row view of Mattias Pies falling into the park's lake. Crazy stuff.

Gordon Taylor
After a great ferry ride we hit Farup Sommerland. Almost lost for words here. In all my years of park visits, this probably was the pinnacle of the group trips. AMAZING hospitality that exceeded all expectations and anything that has gone before really.. Far too much to say here, but a beautiful park, with well behaved families, kids, teens,a real gem.Food to die for, and staff that bent over backwards for anything.. even searching out that last fridge magnet! Words can express my thanks. Highlights were the Kiddie spinnie drop thing, the adventure playground and all the coasters...What a laugh...see below!

Cal Jones
Farup was a real gem. I had no expectations for this park but it turned out to be one of the best of the trips. So many fun things to do. Had an absolute blast on the obstacle course. Laughed hard all day. Good hospitality and meals too.

Mette Doving
After a boat ride it was off to Farup. Nice family park. Thanks for a great day.

Nina Kleppe
Had a good day at Farup, a nice little park. Friendly staff and a good meal. Great evening ERS on Falken.

Patrick Flumet
Malgre le declin de Falken, Farup reste le park familial que j'ai decouvert en 2004, fun de le voir rempli par la foule en ce jour ensoleille. Accueil absolument fantastique.

James "Spinner" Hannaford
Farup was a very nice park. I enjoyed the atmosphere here and it was nice to see a small park busy. I think it must be the first time I have seen Dogs in a Park Whats next the dog lapbar Instead of screams its will be WOOF!!!

Robert Hill
Farup is a great park. Very family-oriented, and the different types of attractions (the big bouncer, for one) was really fun. The meal provided was excellent, and the ERS on the boats and Falken was a blast!

Tim Galvelis
Farup was an unexpected hit. Sorry that I missed the obstacle course, as it was completely amazing, from what I've heard, and seen. The bouncing giant airbubble thing was quite fun, but would've been better with a bigger crowd. Good luck Farup!

David & Susan Ellis
Another fantastic welcome from Soren (the top man) at Farup. On arrival we were all given a Falken goodie bag with baseball hat and other stuff, we had a tasty BBQ meal with free bar and 750ml glasses of beer! Finally we had a one hour ERS on Falken and the Speed Boats. The park is focussed on families, with Falken as the main attraction, a shame it had developed some roughness on the turns since we were last there on its opening day. Unusual for many parks, it allows dogs in the park - I even saw one riding the rapids! Fantastic hospitality. Hello to all at home.

Cheri & Bob Armstrong
What a wonderful park! We were greeted, and given goodie bags, including hats, belts and more. A very nice gift from Farup. We first rode all the coasters. Falken was running a little slow early in the day, but improved greatly by ERS. Lots of wooded areas, many, many picnic areas with gas grills. But most impressive were the children areas! Every corner you turned was another area for children to play. Also, great use of all the little lakes, with many paddle boats, canoes, power boats and speed boats. Also, the first park we've been to with air rifles and horseback riding (all included with admission). This is a great family park with many activities for young children. And the park provided a marvelous meal and free beer!

The last time I was at Farup Sommerland was a cold, wet and damp day three years ago during media festivities for Falken, the wooden coaster. Today couldn't have been more perfect. The place was teeming with people - families having picnics, couples, teens and many dogs (yes they are welcome here, too!) Soren Kragelund, the President, was a first class host. He showered us with goodies and a fantastic outdoor Bar-B-Que meal with lots of good beer. This park has got to be in the running for the best children's park. It reminds me of Idlewild Park - only expanded. Falken still has some good smooth airtime on the straight-aways, but suffers terribly from the Dinn shuffle on the turns and helix. Do we know anyone who can supply new trains? I think so...

Derek Cromarty
They told me I had a great time today.

Maggy Linka
Farup Sommerland treated our group of 132 coaster freaks as if we were VIP's. Very attentive manager, helpful and friendly staff, magnificent buffet dinner, park souveniers, and media coverage--even a news helicopter circling the park. ERT on Falken was an ECC holiday with riders creating happiness with each hill and lateral. This creativity made the Falken's flight a happy happening, Power boat driving was an extra surprise provided by the management. Sweet, It was the most playful park so far, with something for all ages to enjoy. Even mint green cotton candy! I'll be back!

Kim Varde Lassen
Got out of the bus in what looked to be in the middle of a forest (which it was) and met up with the Danish TV crews. Where then wisked directly over to Falken where we occupied the frontseats for three rides doing the necessary shots. The kids in the queue got a bit impatient. Anyway, never been on Falken before, but I was slightly disappointed. It must have seen better days - airtime was good, but what a shaker. Backseat was definatly the best, Mouse was very good, though.
The treatment we got in the park was outstanding, Best so far! Good food, presents and to top it all of we had the most entertaining ERS to date. Just somehing about this place, deep in the forest with the water and everything, that made it into what it was. Loads of fun and cheering in the station. Falken suddenly got a lot better.....

Torrence Jenkins
Farup Summerland is one of the biggest kid playgrounds. The park train is not to be missed. The park staff was wonderful, and the meal was great. ERS on Falken was a true joy to ride, with nice air time and tunnel. The park also opened the Speed boats as an added bonus.

Mike & Kammy SIslofsky
Farup Sommerland is absolutely one of the craziest parks we have ever visited, perhaps only surpassed by Skyline Park in Germany. We expected it to be small with a few rides, but what a surprise we got. Their coaster lineup is not too impressive, but the rest of the park is filled with fun on every corner. They have 4 or 5 lagoons with different kinds of boats (canoes, paddle boats, power boats, etc). They have a nice long train ride around most of the park. There are kids playground equipment all over the park, including trampolines and large air-filled bouncing mattresses. They have a drop ride that spins around the axis of the pole while going up and down. Though it was a children's ride, it was fun by all who rode it. Finally, they have an obstacle course that is the best we have ever seen -- it took us 40 minutes to complete it, and we didn't even do all of the things in it. Thanks to the management for the free gifts, great dinner buffet, and hospitality!

Rob Moes
Nice day at this park, very reminiscent of Knoebels and its `family-friendly fun.

Lisa & Warren Scheinin
What a huge park, so great for kids!! The trampolines were amazing -- never see that in the States! The dinner was delicious and amazing, including the 0.75 liter glasses of beer and bottles of wine -- all free!! The hospitality was incredible. Oh, and the coasters were fun, too.

Becky & Peter Jackson
Fantastic park! The hospitality was great & we enjoyed ourselves very much. Especially on the speed boats, as well as the ERS they had the speed boats open, which was great. We also tried our luck on the Treasure hunt & the obstacle course, which was so fun! Great day all round!

Odd Arne Roste
This was my second visit to Farup and the park is still really fun. The coasters are good, even though Falken had some problems in the turns. The ERS was special with many lining up for the racing boats. Excellent food, both at lunch, with pizza and pasta buffet for free, and the BBQ in the evening with free beer. When I become a grandfather sometime in the future I will take my grandkids here.

Kjetil Roste Ringen
grandkids? ouch, anyways, Faarup is great! the trampolines are incredible, coasters is awesome, tho Falken is a bit "Shaky" Balder is better :) speed boats, also fun, all in all very very funny day!!

Tim Baldwin
Best kids park I've ever been to! How fun is it to see over a hundred adults laughing like kids - what a successful formula. Great hospitality and a wonderful meal.

Jon Richins
After a short (3 hour) ferry ride from Sweden, we arrived in Denmark, land of trampolines and bouncy things. Faarup was such a nice park with a great dinner for us and the best obstacle course ever. It took everyone about 1/2 hour to complete, and only one person fell into the lake. If this had been in thee States, there would have been a lawyer at every obstacle.

Mike Thompson
As some had said on previous trips, Farup is indeed the Knoebels of Scandinavia. Terrific park. They have a unique 'kiddie' drop tower that spins and bounces. The grueling obstacle course was a lot of fun. I wish we could have spent an entire day there. Oh, and the meal and free beer were terrific, too.

Jerry Willard
Another very nice surprise to the trip, and a welcomed day at your own pace. Strolled the park taking in the coasters and attractions and actually did Falken last of all. The hospitality was amazing! I never felt more welcome on the trip. What a wonderful park.

David Elvy
Farup Sommerland was fun. A very nice Family Park, with some Coasters. Falken, while rough in places, is good fun, and the most memorable ERS of the trip so far. Thanks to the Park for the amazing food and wine.

Paul Hindle
Just had about 15 rides on the Falken ERS. WOW, Rough but a very memorable ride. Operator sent us round 2 or 3 times each time. Wont forget that in a hurry. Alcohol helps a lot !!!!

Thomas Enders
Farup Sommerland war wirklich eine Ueberraschung. Der Park ist halb im Wald gelegen mit vielen sehr guten kleinen und grossen Rides. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Matt Crowther
Enjoyed the park very much- neat to see the various boat rides on the 4 artificial lakes, and the landscaping was very nicely done with all the trees. The dinner with free booze was awesome, and so was the
exclusive speedboat time. Falken had some really good airtime despite some shuffle.

Otto P. Dobnick
The streak of incredible parks and really fun coasters continues without a break including Grona Lund in Stockholm (must go back) and Liseberg in Gothenburg. Todays visit to Farup Sommerland presented a very unusual park like you would never see in the US with the most gracious hospitality.

Alan & Owen Rees
As Otto says, another wonderful combination of fun and nature a superb location. ALL the staff on this trip have been wonderful, but those at Farup today were exceptional, and made the day totally memorable. Thank you all!!

Adam King
Stunning in every sense of the word. Nuff said!! : )

John Gasper
We have to be quick tonight because the coach ride is short. Farup Somerland is another wonderful park with really crazy stuff, and lots of things to do where you can get hurt. I didnt get any new injuries, but I reopened an old one and I probably wont be able to walk in the morning.

Dirk Lather
Farup Sommerland, = Farup Ueberraschungsland! Was fuer ein schoener Park, was fuer eine menge an gluecklichen Besuchern, trotz hoher Besucheranzahl.

Mats Hummel
Fantastic park, amazing rides. The drop ride is a must so is the racing boats. Every age can have fun here, and we did. What a great hospitality and really really great meal with drinks. Thank you Sren for having us!

Paul Freeman
Best hospitality of the trip so far, can't think of a better person to be running a park. Not a great day for coasters for me personally as they aren't to my tastes but the park itself and the other rides it provides were brilliant and easily filled the day without any pauses. On one level it has gigantic versions of childhood playground rides, picnic areas and free barbecues for guests to use, on the other level it gives us free beer and lets us drive power boats on the lake!
The 4D cinema and the children's drop tower also proved good. One of the nicest landscaped parks I've been to, trees and plants everywhere creating a need to explore the park as you can't see all the attractions from any one place.
p.s. For those back home I was surprised to find that for a park full of children I was still allowed access to a gun!

Steve Fagin
A Haiku for Farup Sommarland. Lush, verdant; nice staff, dogs, Lateral shocks on woodie. Warm welcome. Beer.

Lars Sorensen
Som altid er Faarup Sommerland en rigtig fed park, virkelig flot park, og der er super rent. Ride op'sne var glade hvilket var rigtigt godt. Tak til Soeren for en rigtig god dag.

Andrew Lamb
A very nice park, lots of greenery and is very well kept. has some nice small coasters and well has side attractions that other parks charge extra such as mini golf. Falken i found in the most park quite rough. the first two drops were great but once it goes through the corners the trains start to vibrate wildly. It feels like the train want to continue going straight ahead. hospitality was fantastic, can't complain about the free beer!

Daniel Almer
We had such a nice day in Farup, it was just awesome. The ERS was the best on the trip. Non stop awesome fun! GO GO GO GO GO!!!

Ken Simmons
Farup Sommerland is a great park, especially for kids, or those who are kids at heart, as there is so much for them to do. Falken was a little disappointing, but still fun, The gift bag we all received was a nice surprise, and the hospitality was incredible.

Lace Patton
Thanks to Farup for a wonderful meal. This is a wonderful family park that has much more to offer than you would originally think. Hi Trips.

Andy Dewar
Farup was a great family park, thanks for the great meal and free beer.

Richard Bannister
Fantastic park with two superb one of a kind attractions. The crazy spinning drop tower, though geared at children, was an absolute hoot, particularly as it is the only ride Ive ever been on to give laterals and airtime simultaneously. Great as it was, though, the speed boats were even better. Ive never been in boats that move quite so fast before, and the rush was fantastic. After a little practice it was easy to bounce the boat next to those on the slower boat ride nearby, neatly soaking people. So much fun! Honourable mention to John Hall, who managed to drive his boat straight into the wall, and to Matthias Pies for proving conclusively that he cannot, in fact, walk on water.

George Greenway
Farup is a family park, something Drayton Manor should come look at, it would be great for them to pick up this parks theming. the rides are a good collection, sadly the woodie is a bit too lively for me with a fair bit of lateral movement in the train giving my shins a hard time on the hard lap bar. the meal was great, and we got included beer. a small group of us opted to fit in tivoliland which is 15min walk from the hotel. with a small group we finished the park in 14mins from gate ent to leave. then onto the hotel to prepare the keys for the arrival of the main group. unfortunately all the keys were not programmed so we setup a new mini game, key reprogramming at high speed
an early start after a late finish so today we are taking it easy with 4 parks 3 ERSs and we leave Tivoli at midnight because the park lights up at night.

Matthias Pies

Steve Gzesh
Some good Danish pastries for breakfast ... must mean we're in Denmark now. Had a great day at Farup yesterday. Falken had some great airtime, albeit the tracking was a little wobbly. The meals and gift bags they gave us were superb. What a great family park with super-friendly staff. Well, today we are off to FOUR more parks, so it's sure to be another spectacular day! As we are travelling to the first park now, the weather forecast looks like it indeed will be a great day!

Bob Clark
Farup is the ultimate family park. Plus a great ERS on Falken and the speed boats - wow. Thanks to Soren and all his staff for a wonderful day.

Ray Topscher - Kevin Schreiner
After another miserable ferry trip, the day was brightened by our reception at Farup Sommerland. It was an amazing family park. Everywhere you looked there were things to climb, jump on and play with. The moon buggies were adorable. After a few bumps and bruises, we learned how wonderful the middle seat was on Falken. The souvenir bags, meal and free drinks were an unexpected pleasure. I think the highlight of the day was on the way to ERS, when a lot of ECC members took over one of the bouncing areas. Truly an incredible park.
