SpeedMonster, nice ride with two Stengel Turns (as seen on Expedition GeForce) I enjoyed ThunderCoaster ntoo, though the vibration was unwelcome. Liseberg tomorrow...

Chris Hull
My return visit to Tusenfryd since being here in 2003. ThunderCoaster running so much better. SpeedMonster fits perfectly into the park and is a great addition. Highlight was seeing Darren riding it. Congrats! A really enjoyable day.

Malcolm Marr
Tusenfryd was awesome. SpeedMonster is fast and ThunderCoaster isn't as bad as last time. Teeny Weeny Riley still rocks! Keith bottled my slushy induced brain freeze race today but has vowed to do it tomorrow.

Keith Johnson
Had an absolutely wonderful time in Tusenfyrd. I loved SpeedMonster and ThunderCoaster.

Jeff Holmes
Well done Norway for having such a great park with 2 fantastic coasters. Congrats to Paul Worts for finding the beer for us even though it was pricey.

Coastin' Carl Ragan
Lots of steep walking in this park ... all worth it. After a brief early downpour, the sun poked its head through the clouds. I hear ThunderCoaster is nearly as good as when it first opened, and Intamin's launched SpeedMonster did not disappoint. Certainly tame in the launch department; I figure the ride is just right. Tusenfryd was a bit unprepared for us at lunch, all in all it was a wonderful day. Looking forward to a kiss BTW!

andycoasterboy
Norway today and Tusenfryd - home of SpeedMonster which is a great ride and a big well done to Darren on riding his first launched coaster.

Wonderful day at Tusenfryd despite a very wet start. Two great coasters and great views of the norwegian countryside. Thanks to Jeppe for giving me a warm fleece for ERT. My coachmate tells me the trolls were very friendly!

Mike & Bob Englander
Slightly worried on the drive to the park with the rain coming down, but it stopped and just threatened enough to keep the number of locals down and the park relatively empty for us. Great coasters in SpeedMonster and Thundercoaster. Loved the two s-turns on SpeedMonster. I want to see more of these.

Darren and Mary
Today Darren rode a launch rocket type coaster, and then proceeded to ride it again.A really nice park, friendly helpful staff, the time passed so quickly. It was worth the long journeys.

Andy Costin
Brilliant day at Tusenfryd! 'Nuff said!

Terry Jarvis
Absolutely loved Speedmonster with its unquie element of lauching you into a loop entering from the top. Thundercoaster also has plenty of airtime, Great day had by all!

James "Spinner" Hannaford
Another Great Park and another great Trip full of surprises. Nice welcome by staff and Ride Staff joined in with the ERS. I only realised a couple of days ago that today would be my 500th Coaster this turned out to be SpeedMonster and what a ride. And when u talk to others that have visited this park on previous trips u realise how little space they had to play with. Well Done Tusenfryd!!!!

Patrick Flumet
Encore un super park avec deux ERS sur SpeedMonster, un launched plutot bon et Thundercoaster , qui malgre les sections refaites, n'est pas redevenu le magic woodie de mon premier passage. une fois de plus l'accueil est juste incroyable...

Mick Fryer-Kelsey
Tusenfryd, still one of my favourite parks. SpeedMonster very thrilling ride and I'm sure it's an asset to the park. Thundercoaster certainly rides better than in 2003. Thanks to the staff and management for making our visit enjoyable.

Liz Fryer-Kelsey
SpeedMonster was very smooth at the beginning of the ride, but the end section was disappointing for me, as my ears were bashed by the restraints. Thundercoaster was enjoyable, and I did not think it was any rougher than in 2003. Wish they could have the same comfy seats on the Grand National at Blackpool. Corkscrew bashed my ears, but then I knew it would, but I had to ride it for the Mouse Family at home. GHEreat day at the park.

Martin Valt
SpeedMonster is excellent. Alton Towers, just what were you thinking? Richard Bannister has only ridden 1000 coasters. Poor dear. Love to Julie and Lol.

Hector Jimenez
Martin just woke me up to type a report. More to follow.....

Today was Tusenfryd in Norway. The weather was quite awful on the way to the park, but fortunately we didn't have too much rain during the day. It was nice to see a *themed* attraction on the trip. All the stories about how expensive Norway is are true, but it's been a wonderful day. Oh, Thundercoaster rocks and the roughness is no problem!

Pjotr Everts
Today I got to ride ThunderCoaster again. I heard alot of people say it had gotten horribly rough. It is indeed, but I expected much worse. The middle middle seats were quite bearable. All in all a nice day at TusenFryd.

Tim Galvelis
Tusenfryd on a rainy day, and we basically had the park to ourselves. SpeedMonster is absolutely amazing; ThunderCoaster has gotten better; and the park, overall, is wonderful.

Rob Hill
Tusenfryd is a wonderful park! SpeedMonster and ThunderCoaster were excellent and Super Splash was the best water coaster ever! Definitely a park worth spending an entire day at. And we lucked out with the weather.

Peter W Oakes.
The three coasters were great.and the supersplash was great. i enjoyed the viking show. Tusenfryd is a great park i cant complain.

Bill 'Buck' Buckley
Quite odd to realize that today (the 17th) was the middle of July. The cool weather lent an air of Autumn to the event. ERT reminded me of Knoebels' Phall Phun Phest...i.e., excellent coaster riding in the cool night air. Today really put the concept of "Coolest Coasters" into perspective!!

CIIG Guys
Tusenfryd is a great park with an excellent staff. SpeedMonster is one of the best rockets and the Vekoma is one of the smoothest around. Yes, I used Vekoma and smooth in the same sentence. The meal was excellent too (even the horse meat). Great day minus the rain.

Cal Jones
Tusenfryd is a great park. Very friendly staff and top rides. SpeedMonster is awesome and Thundercoaster, though rough, was packed with airtime and very re-rideable.

Gordon Taylor
Die seex. The greatests day..except for those CGI losers who keep following us about. They even show up at our same hotel every night. SpeedMonster is a real blast; LOVE it. Again amazing hospitaliy, the nicest staff and a very tasty lunch. Quiet park today so lots of rides for us. Many thanks, and thanks to Tord for the ice cream!YUM!

martha andrews
I really enjoyed SpeedMonster. I thought ThunderCoaster was alright, just that damn black bar was painful. All in all I had a nice day.

Nina Kleppe
Today we where at my lokal park in my home country. First time in park with the club. Speedmonster is a good ride, but Thundercoaster was still to rough. But it needs new trains. Now. Send et par nye tog til Tusenfryd med en gang. Fun with the ERS on Speedmonster and Thundercoaster. Had a nice day at the park. So now we're of to Sweden again, and Liseberg tomorrow.

Mette Doving

Yvonne Janik
I loved my first visit to Norway and Tusenfyrd - what a clean, festive park. I especially enjoyed ThunderCoaster for its many seconds of airtime. I also found the Viking ride creative, unique, and enjoyable. The park staff members were friendly and efficient, the management team was generous and kind, and the souvenirs were abundant.

David & Susan Ellis
Today was Tusenfryd, a hilly park set in some pretty wooded landscape just south of Oslo. We had 9 hours in the park and enjoyed the coasters and other rides, with two hours of exclusive riding in the evening, one hour on SpeedMonster, an Intamin rocket coaster with a custom layout, and one hour on both Teeny Weeny (the world's smallest coaster at 8ft tall) and ThunderCoaster, a wooden coaster with a steep drop. ThunderCoaster had been re-tracked since we rode it in 2003, and was much better, with some of the fun that it had when it opened in 2001. A great day, with a few showers, but occasionally the sun even made an appearance! Liseberg tomorrow...should be another great day.

Becky & Peter Jackson
What a fantastic day, 9 hours in the park and apart from the occasional spot of rain we had a great time. We had an ERS on SpeedMonster (Rocket coaster) & another ERS on ThunderCoaster. Both are very good coasters!! The buffet that the park provided was also very good... We has a great day & tomorrow should be great too at Liseberg (which has Balder!!)

Cheri & Bob Armstrong
We arrived at TusenFryd today, our only park in Norway. This park has more hills then any park I have visited. We had a great lunch today, including some local foods. The SpeedMonster was a fun launch coaster with many interesting elements. We found the ThunderCoaster a bit rough. Hard rain for a short time in the afternoon kept us undercover for a time, but cleared for more riding.

B. Derek Shaw
Dagen er Din! I think it means a day of fun and boy did we have one. In spite of spotty weather, we had 9 hours to experience everything Tusenfryd had to offer including two ERS's!! The Speed Coaster was the way launch coasters should all be - smooth, fun and lots of action. It is better than Hersheypark's Storm Runner. Elton John once sang, "The Bitch Is Back". That's true about ThundercoastMer, the wooden gem. On the 2001 trip it was outstanding. In 2003 it was crap and now, four years later,it is on a decent rebound. The new tracking on the second hill and added tunnel have combined to deliver 85% of it's original performance. If the Intamin trains were replaced with new IMPROVED trains, it would be remedied. Gee...I wonder who we know who could solve their problem,,,
As we left the park, the rain kicked in again. We're journeying south to Gothberg. More in the next installment.

Derek Cromarty
Zzzzzz!

Lots of fun today inspite of the weather, which was a mix of heavy rain, light drizzle, sunshine and wind. The group is beginning to compare coaster-trip-related injuries: bumps, bruises, sore ribs, scraped hands, skinned knees, and cramping leg muscles. Sure sign that a lot of riding is being done! Park items are really expensive. A glass of beer was $10; a t-shirt was $30. But most everyone seems to be coping well, and spirits are good. Coasters were great today, and a Viking ship simulator ride was great fun as well. Got soaked on the water coaster, but dried out eventually late in the day. Great being with friends--new and old.

Kim Varde Lassen
Day was spent with my ridng buddies and we did all the rides in the park, I think. Speedmonster....good, Thundercoaster.....better, both super coasters. Roll Over was a freaky ride. The fact that it made all the blood in my body run to my head was nothing compared to the sensation of the thing shaking and rattling like it was going collapse any second. Very funny.

Andy Wright
Our day started with a long journey to Norway for Tusenfryd The day was long and hills everyware to get to rides. SpeedMonster looked great one of the rides which I came here for. I didn't like the back ride but once ridden again this time at the front it was a lot better ride. The ERS in the evening was on that coaster and the Wooden Coaster Thunder and that was a good ride to. Another Great day at a Scandi Tour and roll on day 7 for Lisberg. I am so enjoying the trip. One last thing hello Thomas & Charlotte-Emily daddy is missing you lots.

Mike Thompson
The laptop never made it to me yesterday, so I have some catching up to do. The overnight ferry was more fun than expected. I hung out with several of the Brits and a handful of Americans at the Sports Bar and the Disco. Got a whopping 3 hours of sleep that night, but it was fun. Stockholm looks incredible. Wish we had time to explore it. Grona Lund was terrific. Loved the funhouse and the Blue Train dark ride. TusenFryd was also terrific. The morning rain helped keep the crowds away. SpeedMonster and ThunderCoaster were both better than I had expected. Hi Al. Wish you were here.

Rendell Bird
We left Sweden bright-n-early this morning on our way to Norway's Tusenfryd amusement park. The entire park is built into the side of a hill. I have officially sworn to never complain about Dorney Park, Dollywood, or Silver Dollar City ever again. Tusenfryd had sections of their park which were nearly vertical. But that made the addition of some great "terrain coasters" rather easy. SpeedMonster (Intamin launched coaster) was suprisingly good. ThunderCoaster (Vekoma wooden coaster) was easily my favorite of the Vekoma woodies I've ridden - surpassing Loup Garou / Werewolf at Walibi Wavre (previiously known as Six Flags Belgium); and Robin Hood at the park which used to be called Six Flags Holland. Vekoma's trains have a tendency to wallow in the turns, but the layout was was filled with airtime hills. I enjoyed my cold rainy day in Norway. Now, we're on the road to Goteburg, Sweden, for the night.

Jon Richins
Our only foray into Norway brought the cold rain. Riding two great coasters, ThunderCoaster and SpeedMonster, how in the hell did the Vikings do it? Still, a pretty good day. Getting a bit homesick, and missing my bed.

Rob Moes
Tusenfryd definitely wins the gold medal for best aerobic workout park. Overall very high quality park with sophisticated rides. I love the triangular skeleton that makes up the backbone of the Intamin coasters--some great fake-out moments when you think the track will be taking you one direction and it ends up going the other way instead. Concessions were high-priced, even considering the rest of Scandi so far: 200 NKr for a T-shirt! Overall the day was much nicer than expected based on the iffy weather. Looking forward to Liseberg!

Mike & Kammy Sislofsky
This was our third visit to TusenFryd, and it has improved each time we have come, despite its hilly terrain. ThunderCoaster has definitely improved since our visit in 2003, but it is not quite as wild and smooth as it was in 2001. Speed Coaster is a very nice addition to this park, and the park seems to have added more food stands/restaurants, more flowers and shrubs, and more color. Dagen er din!

Torrence Jenkins
Tusenfryd built in very hilly terrain which was incorporated into the design of Thundercoaster. Thundercoaster delivered the most intense positive G forces yet. SpeedMonster contained a very interesting loop, nicked named the Norweigen Loop. The park was not very crowded and two hour ERS closed out yet another great day.

Kjetil Roste Ringen
good old tusenfryd... drove the loopen when i was 4 years old (my first coaster) and well... hard for me to say it kinda suck nowdays. SpeedMonster was (and IS) great. Thundercoasters speed is like.. oh my god, but its not comfortable anymore :( anyways, its very funny though. Tiny weeny (or however its spelled) is allways fun, aswell as dragen and super splash :) great food, easy to understanbd the language, great park!!

Odd Arne Roste
Tusenfryd is my home park and I was happy to see Thundercoaster was better than the last years, and faster. But it still need new cars. Fun with ERS on Teeny-weeny. But SpeedMonster is now the really hot coaster here. I like it more and more. Excellent. really good food too I love "spekemat med eggerore".

David Cornell
It was fun to return to Tusenfryd. SpeedMonster was worth the trip. It has the same seats as Maverick at Cedarpoint but they did not insist on pushing the bar down farther than was needed to fasten the belt. The sound effects are similar to Top Thrill Dragster but the launch is very gentle. On this visit the Viking Village was open. The ring toss onto the erotic totem was interesting. I did not try the stilts. I did not want to risk an injury before the end of the trip. Thundercoaster has improved greatly since 2003. The retracking has increased the speed at least 10mph and there is air time on nearly every hill. Unfortunately the Vekoma cars with the metal bars on both sides of your legs make the ride most painful and unpleasant. I asked the two guys from GCI traveling with us if they can fix this coaster. They did not reply. Back to Sweden now.

Lisa Scheinin
So nice to be back at this park. Even nicer to find that ThunderCoaster is much better than it was a few years ago. It is almost -- but not quite -- as good as it was in its inaugural year. SpeedMonster is very good -- a launch that doesn't feel like it's ripping your face off, nice twisting drops and even some air time. Even Warren liked it and rode it more than once (the acid test for a good coaster). BTW we both nominate Tusenfryd for the title of Park with the Most Trash Cans Per Square Foot.

Andreas and Mechthild Namyslo
Tusenfryd today! It was the third visit to this park for us. We enjoyed the park as we always did. What we are very happy about is that Thundercoaster is on its way back to the glory of its old days when we first rode it in 2001. This shows how much Tusenfryd cares about its coasters. It would be nice if other parks did the same. All in all Tusenfryd is a park we definitely want to come back to.

Bob Clark
Thundercoaster was a great coaster in a superb park. SpeedMonster has become my favourite small launched coaster - the transitions made for a great ride experience.

David Elvy
Tusenfryd today was great, the weather stopped play briefly but on the plus side of this, the Park was quiet which meant lots of rides. SpeedMonster was the highlight, a very unique rocket coaster. A great day.

Paul Hindle
The clouds kept the crowds away - the whole day was like an ongoing ERS. Enjoyed a rocket coaster that actually did something other than go up & down. The woodie Thundercoaster was great - odd to have one that rode better in the back than in the front - how do you get so much airtime in the back car??

Thomas Enders

Alan & Owen Rees
Wonderful day, with a splendid scenery to add a touch of class, and buckets of good rides to die for. SpeedMonster was a big surprise - so smooth!! And Thundercoaster a classic contrast, loud and bumpy = loads of fun!!

Rob Derman
My best friend Dawn would be proud of me. a very hilly park gave me quite an aerobic workout, so I could get a good workout while getting my air time. an early rain in the day kept the crowds away from an amazing park with a great launch coaster (the best coaster of the trip so far) and a woodie with air time to die for. of course superb customer service as has been the case at all the nordic parks we have visited. Six Poles could certainly learn from them.

John Gasper
Today we visited Tusenfryd in Oslo Norway. They had an excellent steelie and and excellent woodie!!! SpeedMonster is super smooth and easily re-ridable. One of my top steel coasters with inversions. Thundercoaster was on the wild side with lots of air time. Rockin Ron would love this one since he is not bothered by the more rowdy ones. We had horse for lunch today. Patti would really like this. Last night was quiet and tonight will be also because of our late arrivals to the hotels, so I am way behind on my beer drinking. Lou aka Brit-chick, I forgot to mention that I rode the Tornado at Sarkanniemi for you a few times as you requested. Barbara, dont forget to pick me up at the airport on Tuesday night. Alexis, I love you. Bye!

Dirk Lather

Ray Topscher / Kevin Schreiner
TusenFryd is a lovely, well-landscaped park with a great selection of attractions. We liked SpeedMonster and SuperSplash and the novelty of VikingRaid. ThunderCoaster was a great choice for Rays 700th coaster. And who can forget Teeny-Weeny? A wonderful day at a wonderful park.

Tony & Ethan Conroy
Dad is feeling like a "Mercan Turrist" on a tour of Europe different day different city/country. Stockholm was brilliant since it was amazingly sunny .Our favourite ride was Fritt Fall ( we rode this a total of 15 times ) It gives a great view of Stockholm . Tusenfryd was really good particularly SpeedMonster. We got very lucky with the weather - overcast but no rain. And lets hope it stays nice for the rest of the trip.

Ole Bredesen-Vestby
Nothing new for me today since Tusenfryd is my homepark, but its fun to walk the park with the eccers and hear their comments on rides and other stuff in the park. SpeedMonster is my favorite ride in this park, and I got another 10 runs on it today. Was lucky with the rain today too. Did the indoor Vikingtoktet when the heavy rainfall started, so that was good timing J The hospitallity was as always very good, with 2 hours ERS in the evening, and a nice meal earlier in the day.

Mats Hummel
Enjoyed ThunderCoaster a lot. Much better than my last visit. Back seat got AIRTIME. SpeedMonster did not impress me on the first ride, but after a few rides I have to say that it has got many nice elements. The ride is really good! The ride-ops were great, running back and forth very quick. I think they actually started the hand slapping today. A really enjoyable day at the park.

Paul Freeman
A nice side effect of missing the hotel restaurant last night was a very nice Fillet Steak and a couple of beers in Karlstad. The park itself was very pretty, with plenty of trees and plants throughout. Loved the airtime on ThunderCoaster and SpeedMonster went up in my estimation as the day progressed.

Lars Sorensen
I have to admit that the first ride on SpeedMonster, wasn't that great,. But then I rode it again and it was great. It is a nice coaster, love the first loop. ThunderCoaster was really good also, especially when it is raining. There was a ride called Roll Over it is like a top spin, that ride was really intense! Had a really good day. A big thanks to Tusenfryd and Justin for the opportunity to get into the engine room, that was really really great!

Steve Fagin
SpeedMonster was great in the front row, and it was good of the park to let us play around in the engine room. ThunderCoaster was a touch jarring when seated over the wheels, but fantastic everywhere else.

Daniel Almer
We had a really good time at Tusenfryd. I liked SpeedMonster, especially in the front seat. The restraints are just painful. ThunderCoaster is now one of my favorite wooden coasters. It is very rough but I like that really on wooden coasters. Congratulations to Richard Bannister for his 1000th coaster credit!

Matthias Pies
I like Tusenfryd very much. SpeedMonster is a great Ride especially in the front. I also like Thundercoaster a lot. Great Airtime on all seats. A little bit rough but it was ok.

Ken Simmons
What started out as a rainy day didn't turn out to be a total washout. I was able to quickly ride the five coasters before the rain came in. SpeedMonster clearly shows that an Intamin rocket coaster that is moderate in size can pack in far more thrills than the 400 plus foot high, 120mph plus rockets. ThunderCoaster is a really nice woodie, although it is a little bit rough. It sure does have a lot of airtime. Teeny Weeny is by far the smallest coaster I have ridden. The Vekoma was a credit. Overall day it was a good day at the park.

Lace Patton
A very nice park. I've never seen a park built into and on top of a mountain as effectively as this location. Thunder was a great wood coaster - terrific air time. Thanks to the Chef for the meal - although I wasn't brave enough or hungry enough to eat the horse pepperoni. Hi Lisa & all.

George Greenway
The day started off soft again, we were greated at the park by very enthusiastic staff and the knowledge that the rain will keep the park quiet, yesterday it had 5000 visitors. the park is built around a hill similar to Dollywood, and made it hard going getting around. the 6 coasters were easily visited before lunch, this time we had chicken and horse. the afternoon saw part of the group go see the engine room on SpeedMonster, later on the ERS the others had the opportunity to go see.the woodie was very lively, The ERS moved over to the woodie, i got a front seat and 2 near backs, you need to be fit to take the back, moving on to the smallest coaster in the world we had a hillarious time going round 8 times before someone else cam over to ride. a long day is now ending with around 4 hours till the next hotel after 1am.... im glad i only do this as a hobby.

Andy Dewar
Tusenfryd was a very likeable park on a large scale. The mack watercoaster suprised me, its excellent. Thundercoaster was rough in a harsh way. it has a great layout and plenty of airtime but would benefit from lighter more forgiving trains I think as it hurts at times. SpeedMonster was brilliant though, I really loved it , the layout is great and the forces are just right... having a great time so far.

Matt Crowther
The Thundercoaster was great, the weather cooperated, another great day.

Richard Bannister
SpeedMonster, coaster credit #1000, and what a ride. Also really happy to have finally been on the smallest roller coaster in the world. Only major downside was prices; Id heard Norway was an expensive place, but wow.

Nick Bowler
Great day. Five rides on Thundercoaster. All on the front. If only some of the parks in England were so well run. Thanks for a wonderfull day.
