Tivoli Gardens, BonBon Land
Legoland Billund, TivoliLand
Fårup Sommerland
Liseberg, Travel

Mark Riley
This was a very unique tour. Along with enjoying many parks who were in the early days of their 2004 season, we also visited parks that were closed to the public! Exclusive Park Sessions were had at BonBon-Land, Fårup Sommerland and Liseberg.

There were many reasons for heading back to Scandinavia this year, but two big ones were the opening of the new B&M floorless Dæmonen at Tivoli Gardens and the S&S woodie Falken at Fårup Sommerland. The group was actually at the official opening of Falken together with many special guests including S&S’s Denise Dinn. Both new coasters were very well received by those on the tour.

In addition to these, the trip also included Legoland Billund and Tivoliland, making the 5-days pretty jam-packed!

The hospitality of Scandinavian parks continues to amaze everyone who has been on one of our trips there. Nothing ever seems too much. Can you open your coasters just for us? Can you open your parks just for us? How about an all you can eat buffet? Free beer? Free souvenirs? The answer is always the same: “Of course!”

Day by Day Reports

Day 1 – Travel, Bakken, Tivoli Gardens

Chris Bailey
Wow what a day, Bakken was much better than I expected – such a vibrant atmosphere. But the best is yet to come!

Phil Ariss
Bakken far exceeded expectations. Did we really have a taxi service on the woodie??? Waiting for a train at the top of the lift hill for 15 mins was surreal. On to Tivoli.

Derek Shaw
Well here I am again. Scandinavia again. (3 times in four years!) As you can see, it has become a favourite place for me to travel to.

Bakken is fantastic as usual. Love the park, love the people and especially the coasters! Whatever you do, “Fix That Door.”

Lisa Scheinin
What other park will let a jetlagged coaster fan curl up for a nap in the inner courtyard of the coaster? And then drop them off at the top for photo ops?

Derek Cromarty
Bakken is brilliant. Bakken rules!

Margaret and Graeme Drinkwater
Tour around the inner workings of the Bakken Scenic Railway was a great eye-opener, and the ride wasn’t bad either! The best ghost train we’ve seen. Very friendly people, a very relaxed atmosphere, and a good start to the trip.

John Coffield
Brilliant fun house.

Day 2 – Tivoli Gardens, BonBon Land

Marlon Scott
What an incredible start! A warm welcome with free beer, an in-depth tour of Rutschebanen, a private train during regular hours, and finally, a coaster “taxi” service!

The operators shuttled us to either high turn and let us out for photos and videos. And plus all that, a great traditional park! AAAAAHHHH! I’m beside myself!

Tivoli was as fantastic as I imagined! We spent an enchanted evening with the park ablaze with light, color, music and beautiful people. The next morning saw another track-walk on the Rutschebanen coaster and an abbreviated but enjoyable ERS on Daemon-a short but quick paced B&M Floorless coaster. I will return to Tivoli in the future.

Owen Rees
What a good time, the tour of the Woodie was good.

Brilliant tour behind scene and walk-about on woodie. Demon was fun, I liked the loop and twist.

Martha and Al Amborn Chicago
Day two-best walkabout ever as we crawled all over Tivoli’s scenic railway! Another great ECC trip in the making!

Owen Rees
Had a fantastic time yesterday. The two scenics (Bakken and Tivoli’s) were once again brilliant.

Marlon Scott
Midas: Never seen anything like this wacky park. Vild Svinet is really something else. Disk-O looks and feels like some a worthy new ride for the park. We all had so much fun, imagine what it would be like if the park was actually open.

Brad Haller & John Fidyk
Very interesting theming throughout the park. Vild Svinet was lots of fun with a great first drop. We need one of these in the states. Definitely have to return to experience the rest of the park.

Roger ’Dodger’ Clark
BonBon Land was excellent. Vild-Svinet was great. Got 9 goes on it. A wicked park with a brill ride!

Bob Clark
Vild Svinet 95 degree coaster 100% entertainment.

Martha Amborn
What an afternoon at BonBon Land.! Just for the record-Lisa Scheinen and I were NOT trying to enhance our female anatomy while posing as bow-of-ship figureheads for the group photo.

Owen Rees
Fun Fun Fun!!! The Made Albatros was Just enjoyable, Wild Boar (Vild Svinet), stopped half way up for a few minutes, but then made it up to the top slowly.

Richard Foster
Fantastic afternoon at the maddest park. Its incomparable and Vild Svinet has been speeded up – even better! Everyone friendly and happy. A different experience to the park being fully open, and well worth it.

Stuart Milton
Gatecrashers by name gatecrashers by nature! Many would think a closed theme park would be boring, you couldn’t be more wrong. Vild Svinet is better than ever, it has been sped up this year and sure is a treat. Oakwood have made a great choice! Scandinavian hospitality is the best! We had food, drink and ice cream, BonBon Land know how to look after their guests.

Richard Bannister
Another opportunity to walk around the track of a coaster. This is so much fun; I wish parks in other countries would allow you to do the same thing. Daemonen is a fantastic coaster; one of the best B&Ms I’ve been on. Pity we didn’t get to ride the original Zierer Tivoli but you can’t have everything.

As for BonBon-Land, Vild-Svinet is simply fantastic. I managed a total of twenty circuits, a lot of which were made with camera in hand (taped securely by the helpful ride operators!). Check my web page for the photos!

Andycoasterboy
Day 2 Tivoli / a park of outstanding beauty. Hospitality was amazing. Daemon short and very sweet baby B&M. The site of the whole club swarming all over the Rutschebanen is a very great memory.

BonBon Land is open just for us and is something you don’t normally get. Having a coaster and a brand new just installed Disk O all to ourselves was a very good afternoon. The club park take over was also a very very fun way to spend the afternoon. A park everyone must visit.

John Fidyk Brad Haller
Another beautiful day at Tivoli. Walked the track of Rollercoaster. Great ERS on Daemonen. Must ride Dragon, one of the most intense flat rides we’ve been on.

Phil Arris
Tivoli is probably the most stunning park I have been to yet, with a superb atmosphere and unique rides. Demon fits the park ever so well, probably in the nicest setting yet.

Chris Bailey
Tivoli is one class park. Nice mix of scenery and some fantastic rides. Demon met my expectations and the exclusive time on it was brilliant.

David Cornell
It was great to visit Tivoli again. That B&M coaster twisting through the gardens was beautiful. Much thanks to the Tivoli team for letting us walk the track of  Rutschebanen.

Paul McGilly
Tivoli . Fantastically beautiful old park, especially at night. The gardens are wonderfully light. This morning we walked almost a complete circuit of the Scenic before the part opened. Amazing to walk the track of a coaster.

Bonbon. A visit to a closed park! The 95degree coaster is insane, wonderfully insane.

Steve Honeyman
Brilliant so far. Danish hospitality is just amazing. Enough free beer and food to feed an army. Coasters so far have been amazing and the parks are ’unique’ to say the least.

Bart Van Goethem
Loved the drop of their looping coaster Vild Svinet. A real boneshaker! Those Danes are so friendly, free entrance, free food!! And great sunny, hot weather.

Majkel van Eekeren
The spacious layout of Vild Svinet really fits the ride (Gerstlauer – vertical lift/drop). A ride on the rapids, Baever Rafting, would perfectly fit today’s weather…. bur unfortunately it was closed; looked great though!

David & Susan Ellis
Having a terrific time so far. Weather has been warm and sunny. The park hospitality has been second to none. Highlights so far include walking all over the two Rutschebanen scenic railways at Bakken and Tivoli, the mini ERS on Daemonen and taking over a closed BonBon Land. Looking forward to the rest of the trip. Hello to all friends and family back home.

Jean-Marc Toussaint
Tivoli is a gem, Bakken is great traditional fun, Bonbon is just… mad! Thanks to those parks for their extra nice hospitality.

Patrick Flumet
Danish people are so friendly!…. The Vild Svinet is the best surprise at the moment. I can’t wait any longer to try Balder!!!!!!

B. Derek Shaw
Tivoli continues to exude class. Class act, class people, class attractions, the Demon is short and sweet, and to the point. The three inversions are right on top of each other and provide an intense and exciting ride. Can’t wait get back to Tivoli again.

BonBon Land, had fun again at this a quirky little park, that continues to be a fun place to visit. Vild-Svinet was running even faster than last time. Albatross (Zamerla Disk O) although not a coaster provided lots of fun. Thanks for all your hospitality BonBon Land.

Lisa Scheinin
Another terrific day at two great Danish parks. Magical Tivoli and whimsical BonBon Land. As I have finally recovered from the jetlag -the excessive drinking can start.

Phil Coates
Fantastic new ride at Tivoli – it was my 500th coaster. BonBon Land as weird and wonderful as ever.

Linz and Darren hoy
Hospitality in the parks has been second to none, and the thrill of walking around a closed park today makes it one of the highlights of the trip so far.

Jeff and Leslie Graham
Bakken went over the top with hospitality. My favourite moment there was when they gave us the unusual benefit of allowing us to climb off the train after it was stopped at the two highest points.

The special benefit at Tivoli was getting to walk the Rutchesbanen and go under the structure, which is more thrilling to me than any ride time can be.

BonBon Land coaster is a hoot and a half. The vertical lift and drop made me laugh every time.

Bob Clark
Wonderful wonderful Tivoli – wonderful wonderful hospitality.

Roger ’Dodger’ Clark
Saturday WELL COOL Bakken was brill. Tivoli was awesome man. The Demon was wicked.

Sunday Tivoli was brill again 6 goes on Demon. The  Rutschebanen was excellent especially on the back. They had a wicked skull!!

Martin Valt
Great to be back in tropical Denmark. Fantastic hospitality – as usual – at Tivoli and Bakken. Tivoli now even closer to being the perfect amusement park with the addition of a shiny new B&M.

Cynthia Burkee
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

Dave Hall
These Scandinavian parks know three things. Hospitality, Spin’N’Spews and how to employ cute people (who smile – Tussauds people take note please.)

Bonnie Ooley
As the “newby” on the tour I had a blast – every park got better and the one I will remember most is Tivoli and my first inversion on a coaster.

John Coffield
Demon is as smooth as glass and very quick and sadly way to short, but a brilliant ride nonetheless. Tivoli is most delightful at night with all the tiny lights, Most Excellent!!

Robert-Paul van Hardeveld
It is a shame that Daemonen is so short, because else it would be the best coaster out there in his class. As three years earlier the Danish parks are still as friendly. Hope the rest of the trip will be just as good.

Martin Valt
Never before was so good a time had in a closed park!!!!!!

Margaret and Graeme Drinkwater
The two rides that were open were great, and the rest of the park was fun too, even the stuff that wasn’t open! The 97 degree drop really felt like it, and the theming of the park was fantastically random! The new disko ride was a good laugh and interestingly different, and we had fun with a tour of the closed parts of the park.

James Read
Bonbon was fantastic. Vild Svinet was totally insane and the hospitality of the park was second to none – the day was topped off with a relaxing walk around the rest of the park. My lesson for today – The Danish have a very warped sense of humour.

Phil Ariss
What a perfect family park, attractions to suit everybody. Vild Svinet was incredible, and understandably the park is very proud of it. The parks recently installed Disk O was an interesting and fun ride. A special mention has to go to the hospitality of the park, who offered free drinks and food. Onto Legoland…

Jeppe Nygaard
We had a great day today at BB-land. Vild Svinet is a great coaster, and I think it’s running better this year. Their new ride is looking great and very funny. I am very proud of what the parks have done for us so far, it’s been fantastic, and the weather has been warm and sunny. Everybody I have been talking to is happy, so I am happy to. Now on to the hotel at Vejle and then Legoland for tomorrow.

John Coffield
Yet another incredible experience at BonBon Land. The design of this park is out of this world, so unique it defines explanation. The 95 degree drop on the coaster left my heart in my month, I had to ride it again 5 times to get everything back in place. Bravo!!!!

Bonnie(Bon-Bon) Ooley
Well,It was really nice of you all to visit my namesake park on my first tour! I am feeling pretty salty now that I have done a vertical AND an inversion is less than twenty four hours! Really I am having a blast with all of you! What’s next??

Dave Hall
Anybody who hasn’t been should plan to go to Bon-Bon! It has unique character, from the innuendo-packed theming to the 97o drop to the rocking cow. Hospitality, Spin’N’Spews and cute staff too of course! They’re also the only park I’m sure to go to find a roll of duct tape and offer to strap our cameras to our hands in order to get on-ride footage.

Day 3 – Legoland Billund, TivoliLand

John Coffield
Very different, the 4-D cinema was a disappointment the effects weren’t good.

Owen Rees
My first visit to a Legoland, and I enjoyed it immensely. The models are spectacular, and the ride aren’t too bad either! Power builder deserves an honourable mention and is great fun, and not so long you start to feel nauseous.

Stuart Milton
Legoland Billund’s Power Builder would be exceptional if I could have stopped laughing long enough to know which end was up. I only wish I could have ridden it a few more times.

Margaret and Graeme Drinkwater
A very entertaining park, despite the lack of any huge rides. The Power Builders were excellent, somewhere between Samurai and a car assembly line, but so much fun. The models were also enjoyable to look at, all in all, a good little park!

Phil Ariss
Legoland was a pleasant surprise, with a variety of attractions for all. The theming was superb, and the MACK wild mouse was very enjoyable along with Power Building (robocoaster), which was presented extremely well.

Jeppe Nygaard
I was very anxious to see how everyone would like LegoLand or not, but after 5 mins. inside the park the smiles were appearing, fingers pointed, cameras flashed That made me feel happy. I have been to the original Lego land some 30 times and enjoy the theme very well, so many details. Miniature Land is my favourite. The new robo coaster was great, it adds a lot to the ride that you program it yourselves. And great lighting effects and setting. Good weather, very nice day. Only bad thing was that the group-meal was delayed though pre-booked.

Roger ’Dodger’ Clark
Legoland was good. Had fun on the boats dodging water bombs. The mouse was ok. 4D cinema was cool! Having a wicked time!!

The Amborns
Went to about 20 countries today, but they were very, very small! Loved Legoland!

Linz and Darren Hoy
LegoLand was, as expected, truly fantastic. The models were all great, and there were loads of different models to what is at LegoLand Windsor. The staff were great, and made the day special with the “guided Tour”

The Power Builder was amazing, being able to build your own ride as to what you want to ride, and then actually getting to ride it is great! It’s like having your own Roller Coaster Tycoon ride in your own park!!

Mini Land was in fantastic detail, and 200 pictures later, we are off.

Jeff and Leslie Graham
A wonderful park – great theming. We survived the power builder. amazing detail in Miniland, and not enough time.

Derek Shaw
really enjoyed my time at Legoland. Could have spent 4 hours alone checking out Miniland. Coasters were fun. Only disappointment was lack of logo’d souvenirs, ie patches, magnets, pins and no roller coaster postcards. I went in with loads of money to spend, but spent nothing. California Legoland always seems to get my money.

Lisa Scheinin
Legoland is another exquisite member of the Legoland series. The attention to detail everywhere is phenomenal. You can’t look more than 3ft without seeing a Lego figure and so many of them are whimsical. Coasters were good. Power Builder was excellent. Souvenir selection was abysmal.

Patrick Flumet
Welcome to a new leader – the Power Builder. A really new experience, and a really beautiful park. Thanks to Legoland.

Steven Honeyman
Power Builder was amazing. A totally unique and intense experience unlike anything else I’ve been on. The whole of Legoland looked brilliant with so much attention to detail, and the models were absolutely amazing, with some good humorous touches.

Robert-Paul van Hardeveld
My first Lego-Park. Didn’t really know what to expect. It’s looking great, funny small little details everywhere. They just need a bigger thrillride and it’s perfect. 🙂

David Cornell
I love traveling, especially when I get to visit a new country and its amusement parks. This was my second LegoLand after California. On my next visit I will schedule more play time. I am looking forward to our surprise park in Aalborg. I like little carnival style parks. — plus 3 credits. Yeah!!!!

Brad Haller & John Fidyk
Cute Park, mini-land was just as amazing as it as at the other Legolands. Power Builder was a unique experience, not to be missed. Having a great time in Europe, as usual.

Richard Bannister
Legoland Billund was my second Lego park in four days, but fortunately the weather was a lot better than when I visited Windsor on Friday. This also marks what I think may be my first visit to a park where a Roller Coaster was not my favourite ride; in this case, the Kuka-built Power Builder takes the top spot. Quite frankly it’s an awesome experience, at least on the most extreme settings. I couldn’t bring myself to try anything but level five on any of my three goes. Hopefully one of these will go up closer to home soon. As always, do visit my web page – ‹http://www.bannister.org/coasters/› – for a more detailed report.

Andycoasterboy
One of the parks I have wanted to visit as a small boy playing with many many coloured bricks. We were greeted by someone from the park who walked us around the various rides they have to offer. One of which was their new Robo Coaster. As you walk in, it’s like a giant industrial science lab – where you are offered an electronic card and invited to design your own program. Being with Justin random button pressing ensued and we ended up on setting 5 (top highest setting) on what can only be described as a great ride experience hanging upside down and being thrown about every-which-way. A quick stroll around the model village and now on the bus to the hotel for a quick stop and off onto Tivoliland, it doesn’t get any better than this.

Marlon Scott
Power Builder was a trip! Glad I did it and glad I did it only once!

Legoland awoke all my old childhood fascination with trains and toys.

Our meal was a little delayed but the Salmon was terrific!

Day 4 – Fårup Sommerland

Chris & Claire McFarlane
We have thoroughly enjoyed the trip so far, as in previous trips the parks and their hospitality have been excellent. Fårup Sommerland is a really nice park and it was great to visit the park for the press day for their new Falken coaster, which is a great addition to the park. Claire loved the speedboat ride and spent a while on there. As for the rest of the park it had a great selection of rides in a heavily wooden area.

Jim Lawrence
A great day. The ride was nice and powerful in a beautiful park. The other coasters were also good – one of the best Reverchon spinning mouses I have been on.

Paul McGilly
Fårup – Private day at the press opening of their new wooden coaster. Amazing to have a whole park operational for just 60 people! Beautiful park hidden in the forest with a fantastic new wooden coaster. Loads of floating airtime. Exceptionally smooth ride. Very comfortable padded seats. The water park looks like it would be excellent as well; especially the inner-tube rapids. Something for a sunny day…. Top park.

Robert-Paul van Hardeveld
A small park with very, very nice management and operators. This is how every park should be operated, checking but no lap bars pushed through your stomach. They’ve built a coaster that perfectly fits in their amount of rides and that rides really good. I’m curious at what they will do in the future and if this coaster gets in more people than last season. It really should do that!

Brad Haller & John Fidyk
Beautifully wooded park, reminded us of Knoebels’. Fårup may have more trees than all US parks combined! 🙂 Falken was great, our first S&S woodie. Falken had nice airtime and a very nicely themed tunnel. The park management/staff were very welcoming and hospitable. We will definitely go back to experience the rest of the park on a future trip.

Roger ’Dodger’ Clark
A wicked park with a seriously cool wooden coaster, Falken. It was great at the front and great at the back. An excellant coaster all round. The park was great too with free t-shirts, ride photos and food. The speed Boats were well cool. You could get up a lot of speed. It was great!!!

Bob Clark
Falken – Extra Tour, Extra Tour – PLEASE.

Martha Amborn
Great coaster. We’re taking it back with us to the States!

Martin Valt
Once again a mid-sized woodie proved infinitely more fun than a giant one. A real winner!!!

Dave Hall
“Have 2 hours riding before the press arrive… have a free rain-mac so you don’t get wet… have a free on-ride photo… have a t-shirt… have as much free food, drink and beer as you’d like. We’ll open up more rides for you too so you don’t get bored…” Then they thanked US for coming! Don’t want to leave Denmark 🙁

Phil Coates
Fårup Sommerland is a great little park (a must visit). The new woodie as to be ridden to be believed, at 20 meters it only sounds small but packs a hell of a punch.

Jeff and Leslie Graham
Fårup extended unbelievable hospitality. The park allowed us to ride the woodie for 90 minutes before the opening ceremonies and gave us free run of the whole park and all of its rides, as well as an endless buffet of food and drink. The woodie rides better than many twice its size and is loaded with airtime and very cool tunnel. Justin called the park, Denmark’s Knoebels for all of its shade trees. You gotta visit this little gem of a park.

Steven Honeyman
Wow! Falken, what a coaster. Has an amazing amount of airtime for such a small coaster, and is so deceptive. Front and back seats were both fantastic. Fårup Sommerland is such an attractive park, and today was yet another example of the Danes amazing hospitality. Free beer, food and, to top it all off, free merchandise. Brilliant!

David and Susan Ellis
Fårup Summerland’s new wooden coaster is Falken, and it’s excellent! What a terrific day. We were privileged to ride on the very first train of passengers. What could possibly beat that? Well, we also got free ride photos, a free commemorative T-shirt, free food and beer. Falken is a superbly designed coaster, and for its height (66ft) produces a huge amount of airtime and fun!

Bart Van Goethem
The rain did not matter at all, Falken is such a good ride. Loved the superb airtime in the front. Fårup was so generous to us!! Free foto, t-shirt, drinks and lots of delicious food. Visit this park, don’t miss it!

Andycoasterboy
Day 4 – Fårup Sommerland – Its not everyday you are treated to a park to yourself, today was one of those days – An amazing looking park with the greatest hospitality.

We are here for the launch of their brand new S&S wooden coaster ’Falken’ and what a ride it is. With a slight spot of rain it was running amazing well with heaps of airtime. Off to the ferry to Liseberg to a 5 star hotel. Can this trip get any better?

Owen Rees
Wow Wow fun fun fun !!!

Richard Foster
Surely one of the best days we’ve had has a Club in a park. Great new coaster, amazing hospitality and a superb wooded park. Thank you Fårup for an incredible day!

Stuart Milton
An absolutely fantastic day, no superlatives really do it justice. Awesome! A great new coaster, and superb hospitality.

Phil Ariss
Fårup today far exceeded expectations. Falken is amazing, airtime in each seat, fantastic at both ends of the train (very comfy as well). For such a small lift hill height, the ride is breathtaking. Not only is Falken superb, the park is also superb in near every department. Free food, drinks, empty park, terrific and friendly staff. By far the highlight of the trip so far.

Last night however, was quite different. As a surprise we visited Tivoliland, which was disappointing. The park seemed run down, and our first ride resulted in being evacuated from the lift hill of the parks boomerang! Very scary. Considering a short drive away is the amazing Fårup, why anyone would visit Tivoliland is beyond me!

Chris Bailey
No words can describe what a fantastic park Fårup is. Great staff, great food and one superb coaster. I think Falken was quite a surprise to some people, under estimating what it can do! Off to Sweden now – no more parks like Tivoliland please.

Margaret and Graeme Drinkwater
A great park in a forest setting, very picturesque, and what’s more, a great new coaster! A lot of speed and airtime is generated from a relatively small lift hill. The only thing that would have improved it was the weather! Very good of the park to open all of the rides for us – so we could explore the park. Fårup is a lovely park, and the free lunch went down very well too!

Marlon Scott
Falken was brilliant! When I first saw it’s shallow first drop, I was sceptical but I was happily mistaken! The coaster has good speed, fun curves and most important-airtime on each hill! Very nice floaters!

Park seems nicely wooded with lots of pine trees. I rode the other 2 coasters but wish I had more time to see the whole park and get a feel for the atmosphere. Looks like it might be a European version of our beloved Knoebels.

Great hospitality by our hosts. Great food and drink (more smoked salmon and red wine and desserts stoked my “furnace.” Add free “Falken Tester” t-shirts and another awesome visit on this trip!

Lisa Scheinin
Fårup Sommerland is just beautiful! It was odd to see such a large park in this rural setting. The entire experience was non-stop delightful – lovely park, astonishing hospitality, and a brand new coaster that knocks your socks off! Falken is further proof that good things come in small packages!

B. Derek Shaw
Another day, and another (as the Brits say) brilliant park! Even though it was dreary and raining (just like Seattle), that didn’t dampen my spirits about the park and Falken. It’s a nice medium-sized coaster that runs well. At least four occasions for good, serious air-time.

It was fun to participate in a press day at a foreign park. There were all kinds of media-types all over the place. I’m sure many of them were unfamiliar with roller coaster enthusiasts. We gave them plenty of material to work from to compile their stories.

The park itself is also a treasure (some calling it the Knoebel’s of Europe) with it wooded site and rides jammed between all the trees and other vegetation.. Thank you for your generous hospitality!

Lindsey and Darren Hoy
What a fantastic experience – seeing the opening of a roller coaster, and then having our own “private” park, with rides open, but no public, so no queues!!

The Coaster was great, and was in keeping with the appearance and theme of the park. The speed boats were fantastic (although a little wet in the rain) and we felt like James Bond baddies doing donuts and leaping the waves in the water.

Thank you Fårup for a truly memorable day.

Midas van de Graaf
Fårup is a very beautiful park on a normal day, with lots of green and areas to just sit and look around. The way they received us is absolutely unforgettable though. I can’t think of any other park that would even consider having nearly all rides running just for some coaster maniacs. And that still wasn’t all, the lunch was superb. Nice to have met Mr. Gerstlauer too. Falken is great, there’s airtime everywhere on the train. I can’t say if I prefer frontseat or backseat, it’s really quite good everywhere. Thanks to everyone who made this possible, also the ride operators who showed us around.

Jean-Marc Toussaint & Patrick Flumet
Falken is a fun, zippy, little ride. Excellent addition to Fårup, our favourite park on this trip. A big thank you to Soren and his staff for their wonderful hospitality.

Richard Bannister
It’s not every day you get to ride a coaster in the first train to ever run on it, and such an event is made even more special when it turns out to be a real stunner of a ride. Falken is one of the best wooden coasters I’ve had the pleasure to ride. It serves as yet another example that height and maximum speed of a coaster are secondary to the quality of the design. If only all coasters this height were quite so much fun. I clocked up a total of 36 circuits over the course of the day. Fantastic.

Day 5 – Liseberg, Travel

Patrick Flumet
Great great trip. As expected, after all the reviews, “Balder” is a top three woodie. It’s very difficult to find a part of it without airtime. Thanks to all the team of ECC for those five days.

Lindsey and Darren Hoy
Well, we didn’t think that anything would be able to beat Lego Land, but the last day of the Scandi Tour turned out to be rather special as well!. The Balder Coaster was the ultimate high to leave on, with every metre of track giving a bit of oompf to the ride, and more airtime in that one ride than every other coaster on the trip put together!!. Definitely the Megafobia of the mainland.

Great times, and cannot wait for the next trip. See you all at a park soon.

Margaret Drinkwater
I was looking forward to riding Balder and I was not disappointed. Fantastic first drop and airtime on every hill. A good ride in every seat.

This has been a great trip with new parks and rides for us to discover. Thanks to everyone involved in organising it and I look forward to the next scandi trip.

David & Susan Ellis
What a way to finish a trip.exclusive riding on Balder. Yet more beer, more fun and 45 minutes of airtime-filled thrills on our number 1 woodie. Overall a superb trip.the 5 days have gone quickly, yet Bakken seems weeks ago! Thanks to all those responsible for organising the trip. It has been very special.

Marlon Scott
Wow! What a finish to a fantastic trip! Liseberg was a larger, more themepark-like park than the others we visited- But done well! I love how it’s in an urban setting. Wonderful to see it from my hotel room at the Gothia Towers.

Lisebergbanan is a masterpiece of a terrain coaster-just the right mix of thrills and scenic tour.

Well, I love airtime so clearly Balder rolls right into my top five! It feels less like a steel coaster than Colossos at Heide Park. It’s absolutely a hybrid between wood and steel. But oh! That airtime on every hill and I love how steep the banking is. We rode both trains “cold” but they delivered and gained speed within the hour!

Thanks and cheers to all the organisers. Trip went very smoothly. I’ll see you next year in Japan!

Chris Bailey
Well just like the others, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the trip organisers. Balder was the perfect ride to finish off one awesome trip – I look forward to the next.

Richard Bannister
Balder marks the second time in two days that I’ve had to rearrange the list of my favourite wooden coasters. My first ride in the back seat was somewhat underwhelming, but after the ride got warmed up it really started to fly, with some superb ejector seat airtime. Many thanks to everyone involved with organising this trip, and hopefully I’ll see as many of you as possible in Germany (and Belgium, Japan, .)

Martin Valt
Another great trip with great company. Thanks to everyone involved in organising. Balder, the Scenic at Tivoli and Lisebergbanan are still three of the very best coasters in the world. Apologies to anyone who caught my hideous cold. Looking forward to Germany, USA, Belgium, Seattle/Vancouver, IAAPA…

John Coffield
Balder! What can I say “AIRTIME” fast, airtime, smooth, quick, airtime, dazzling, airtime. Did I mention “AIRTIME” brilliant ride I can’t wait to return and ride again.

Looking forward to the German trip, see you all soon. Peace.

We saved the best for last. Liseberg was wonderful as ever. Lasse showed greeted us last evening and again this morning. The Lisebergbanan kicked ass!! Had a great time on that ride (even though the park was invaded with school children working on class projects).

Balder again lived up to its reputation from last year. INCREDIBLE. I love the ride even more this year. The two tunnels and three partial ones, added a different element to the ride. Don’t wait forever to ride Balder – it’s the one coaster you don’t want to miss!!

Unfortunately the trip is now over. It was fast, furious and fun. We have a lot of great photos and trip reports to look at until.we return again!!
